Dimitri Van Becelaere

Dimitri focuses on estate planning and family property law. In his practice, he advises and guides high net worth individuals in the area of succession planning, and assists clients in family disputes regarding inheritance and gifts. 

Subject matters

Dimitri assisted various families and wealthy individuals in drawing up and developing effective estate plans, paying attention to both the family and tax aspects. In this context, he assisted clients in setting up control structures for donations, drawing up wills and drawing up marriage/cohabitation agreements.

Dimitri’s role is not just advisory. He has represented clients in a variety of family disputes ranging from parentage issues and will contests to complex settlements and division of estates.

With regard to taxation, Dimitri handled various tax disputes with the tax authorities (gift and inheritance tax). He is often asked to provide tax advice on existing estate plans and to prepare (complex) inheritance tax returns.

Dimitri is registered at the Antwerp Province Bar since 2017.

He has a Master’s degree in Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Language and Literature from KU Leuven.
