After taking part in the Junior Program, Laura continued her career at Tuerlinckx Tax Lawyers as a Legal Advisor. She contributes to the analysis of cases and the preparation of legal arguments, with a particular interest in tax procedure and international tax law. She holds a Master’s degree in Law from UCLouvain, with a specialisation in civil and criminal law, and is currently pursuing an Advanced Master’s in Tax Law at ULB.
Her interest in tax procedure stems from the central role it gives to defending taxpayers’ rights. She attaches particular importance to supporting clients throughout their case, taking into account the practical implications of the proceedings and ensuring that their individual circumstances and arguments are examined with due care. This client-focused approach guides her pursuit of legally sound arguments and solutions tailored to each client’s interests.
International tax law appeals to her because of the technical complexity of the issues involved and the rigorous legal reasoning it requires. She particularly enjoys interpreting tax treaties and examining how they interact with domestic and European law. This analytical work is especially meaningful when it helps clarify the tax position of a taxpayer faced with multiple tax systems and identify legally appropriate solutions to the resulting challenges.
