Romy focuses exclusively on criminal and criminal procedure law. She will always provide honest and practical advice. In this context, her interest in the circumstances and the person behind the client is paramount. In case of litigation, vigorous assistance will be provided. She passionately defends the rights of both victims and perpetrators and her strong sense of fairness means top quality service is always her priority.

The right of defence and the right to a fair trial are basic principles that must be guaranteed at all times.

Meanwhile, Romy has gained extensive experience in representing her clients’ interests before both the Police Courts, Correctional Courts, Appeal Courts and Assize Courts.

Romy teaches working lectures on criminal procedural law for professional training at the Order of Flemish Bars. Occasionally, Romy teaches within her field of criminal law for the continuing education of lawyers, organised by the Antwerp Bar Association or De Conferentie. She is also a member of the criminal law department at the Antwerp Bar Association.

Romy has had her own podcast channel “Let’s get lawed” since April 2022, covering social legal topics in a very accessible way, and she also wrote the book “Diary of a Criminal Lawyer” (Dagboek van een strafpleiter), published by Uitgeverij Lannoo in May 2024, which takes a no-holds-barred look behind the scenes. After her work placement, she started her own office in Turnhout, which eventually evolved into the TUROLEX Advocaten association. A long-term external collaboration with TUERLINCKX TAX LAWYERS turned into an internal cooperation, as a result of which Romy has had its branch office at the premises since January 2023.
